School

During my Elementary years, I was one of the most naughty students. I used to play during lectures and even destroyed chairs. I destroyed three chairs during my Elementary years, and I regret it.

And also during those years, trouble was always around. Gangs always tried to fight and bully me. I can say that I was a coward before, but I fought a lot of fights.

During my Highschool years, trouble was never mentioned. I was always at home, studying. Homeschooling was the type of curriculum I got into. It was one of the best years of my life, because during those times I memorized three parts of the Qur'an.

There were lots of challenges during those years and the challenge of making your house your school was the hardest. Homeschooling is very difficult without discipline. But I studied hard, and I played Tennis a lot. These were the years when Tennis became my dream. And I hoped that I could be a professional Tennis player.

When I was about to turn into Third year Highschool, my parents let me take an acceleration test. I took that test and passed it while suffering from my wounds. It was a great challenge.

Right after my Father knew that I passed, he immediately enrolled me in Taguig City University. I studied hard because I wanted to have good grades. Now that I am a Sophomore, I want to become a Basketball player. I started training myself a week before Ramadan. I even played Basketball every afternoon during Ramadan. I want to be a better player. Inshaallah.

Going To Malaysia (2)

After I complete the Associate Degree, I would like to take my Bachelors Degree in Malaysia. I am planning to take courses in Arabic Language and Literature. I believe that these are the best courses, because in order to understand the Qur'an, we Muslims must learn Arabic. I am not contented with reading the translations only. The best way to learn the Qur'an is to learn its language.

After graduating from that course, I will either go to Yemen to study or upgrade my studies to the Masteral level.

Basketball

I love playing Basketball. I play the game almost everyday. It is easier to learn than Tennis. Because in order to be a better Tennis player, you need to consume a lot of time playing it. You need a Physical Therapist, a Fitness Trainer, a coach and of coarse a hitting partner. In order to play the game, of coarse, you need racquets, balls and strings. Unlike Basketball, you only need a ball, shoes and a court to learn on your own.

One thing I've always wanted to learn, is to dunk. I'm doing a workout that could increase my vertical leap. And I do it twice a day. What I do is I put my toes onto a platform (of coarse using shoes). And then, I lift my whole body using my toes, doing a DORSIFLEXION and a PLANTARFLEXION. I'll try the results of this workout after a month. Inshaallah, I will be able to dunk the Basketball ring.

My uncle said, it is better to play Basketball in a whole court. So Inshaallah, I will be able to practice on a whole court.

Typhoon Ondoy

The day that Typhoon Ondoy hit Manila was a really memorable day. That day, I woke up late. I rushed to school, because my first subject was one of the difficult ones. I went to school using a jacket because I thought it would block the rain from wetting me, but I was wrong. My whole body got wet from the rain.

When I arrived at school, I saw a college student who was walking towards the opposite direction. I asked her if we had class. She said that the guards told her that there were no classes due to the typhoon. So I went home. I ran to school because I didn’t want to be late again. I have always been late for my Saturdays classes. I think my frequent tardiness and because it was Math was the reason why I found that subject difficult for me.

When I arrived from school, I changed my wet clothes and rested. After two hours of resting, I showered in the strong rain. I enjoyed playing in the rain. I loved the rain ever since I was small.

While other people were suffering, we were playing. I guess it is because of the wisdom of Allah (s.a.w), that Muslims will not be affected by his punishment. And the punishment was due to the bombing of Jolo.

That Saturday morning, Southern Luzon was devastated. Floods rose and destroyed cars and houses. The strong wind blew houses’ roofs away. Churches were destroyed, and many people died.

A week after the storm, the Red Cross of the Philippines helped the victims. They organized a concert in Taguig City University, accepting all kinds of donations including underwear and blankets. They also accepted cash donation from people who attended the concert, instead of selling tickets. The minimum amount of P100 for the general public. For the students of Taguig City University, the minimum amount of cash donation was just P50.

We watched the beautiful concert and I went home exactly at 5pm. But the concert ended at 3 o’clock in the morning. There were 24 bands that sang at the concert and among were 6Cyclemind, Sandwich, Pedicab and etc.

So that was what happened in connection with Typhoon Ondoy.
